Attractive Co-Living Student Accommodation in Copenhagen

With a contemporary design in bright surroundings, purpose-built student accommodation in Copenhagen has now been given a major upgrade with the new UMEUS co-living concept. Urban developers NREP are behind the new purpose-built student accommodation in the districts of Amager and Nordhavn, which reimagine the whole concept of co-living and co-studying. The UMEUS architecture was created by Norm Architects, while HOLMRIS B8 supplied all the loose and fixed furnishings for both sites.

UMEUS is an acronym of You, Me & Us, and that combination of individual student life and an appealing student community is the focal concept inside the housing for students. Both sites offer several hundred student accommodation units fitted out with HOLMRIS B8 customized beds, desks, shelving and closets – everything a student needs for everyday life. In addition, students can enjoy a sense of community in an array of shared facilities offering access to creature comforts ranging from kitchens, a café, lounge space and reading room, gym, meeting rooms and patios, all on one site.

Student Life in Bright Daylight
UMEUS interiors are high-ceilinged and drenched in daylight through large windows, while the interior design features contemporary, light-colored materials, raw concrete and warming fabrics, which stage student life in a bright, inviting atmosphere.

Lamps from Muuto provide beautiful lighting in all spaces, and the reading room offers peace and concentration at individual, customized HOLMRIS B8 desks in pale wood and Labofa library chair seating. Alternatively, soft, high-backed easy chairs in shades of brown from +Halle offer a cozy reading nook.

The shared kitchens allow students to prepare meals together at kitchen islands in steel and white materials, to dine at longtables while seated on stools from Menu, and to socialize over a cappuccino or a drink in the café while seated on café chairs from Hay, surrounded by pale wood and grey concrete with a thrilling window view of life in the capital.

UMEUS Amager opened in October 2021, while UMEUS Nordhavn opened in February 2022. More UMEUS sites are scheduled for construction in the Copenhagen area.
