The Danish actuator manufacturer LINAK and Holmris B8 have entered a new agreement that extends the lifespan and warranty on a key element of the office.
When new offices are being set up, there is increasing demand for solutions that extend the lifespan of both existing and new furniture. Today, project results are also measured in CO2e targets, upcycling, and reuse. One of the areas where reuse can help reduce CO2e numbers is the electric legs on sit-stand desks, which still make up about 50% of the square meters in an office.
That’s why Holmris B8 and LINAK have made a new agreement. After a review of the LINAK lifting columns, Holmris B8 can now offer three extra years of warranty on desk legs that are up to 12 years old.
This gives customers and suppliers a stronger reason to reuse. “I’ve never seen a desk with LINAK components wear out—never. That’s why LINAK electric legs can easily be reused, even if they are older,” says Henrik Holmris, founder and creative director at Holmris B8.
The agreement between LINAK and Holmris B8 is based on shared trust in quality. As Troels Strandby Jørgensen, Key Account Manager at LINAK Denmark, says: “We believe in the quality of our products. LINAK lifting columns are tested to run 5,000 full up and down cycles, and usually they can do much more. That’s why we’re happy to support Holmris B8 in reusing our columns so the full lifespan is used.”
The journey toward more sustainable office environments is well underway, and the partnership between these two strong players means that Danish companies can confidently put reuse high on the wish list when designing their office spaces.
