A colourful and inclusive learning environment
Damhusengens School has undergone a major transformation with new learning environments for both lower and upper secondary levels, dining areas, and subject-specific classrooms. As part of the process, Holmris B8 supplied the loose furniture for the new spaces. The interior design was developed in collaboration with architect Sara Bruck from Nøhr & Sigsgaard and is based on a colourful and playful concept inspired by Pippi Longstocking, Luis Barragán, and the nature surrounding Damhusengen.
The project combines new solutions with the preservation of existing furniture, and a large part of the interior has been reused to create a cohesive expression across the school’s different areas. The design supports the school’s focus on inclusive learning environments, with spaces that invite both social interaction and concentration. The dining area features furniture in calm colours and solutions that create clear zones, while shared areas and classrooms include soft lounge elements, acoustically friendly materials, and flexible seating.
The school spans several buildings covering approximately 60,000 m². Discover how the interior design comes to life in the images below.
