ibis Styles Copenhagen Ørestad

Stylish Budget Hotel with Surprising Details

In February 2023, French hotel group Accor opened the new ibis Styles Copenhagen Ørestad hotel, which caters to young solo travelers and business people looking to stay in a vibrant urban patchwork of graffiti, greenery and raw concrete.

Dutch architectural firm Mulderblauw Architecten created the interior design while HOLMRIS B8’s Danish and Dutch hospitality colleagues worked together to realize the design plan and supply fixed and loose furnishings for the hotel’s 186 rooms, bar, restaurant, lobby and work area.

Blurring the Lines Between City and Nature
For their design, Mulderblauw Architecten was inspired by the hotel’s location in Copenhagen’s Ørestad district on Amager – just a short metro ride to the pulse of the city and with a range of natural experiences just around the corner. This meeting of the blinking neon lights of the city and peacefulness of nature is reflected in the hotel’s colors, materials, artwork and furniture.

Beautiful silhouettes of vast trees decorate the back walls of the many rooms. The elegant wallpaper and muted sky-blue tones are soothing for the eyes, while bright contrasts call to mind exhilarating city adventures.

The decor of the public areas also combine elements of the natural and the urban. This tapestry of visual and tactile impressions offers guests a stimulating  hotel experience in a contemporary, living-room chic design with space for both fun and focus.
