Danfoss Copenhagen

Upcycled interiors set the stage for hybrid work at Danfoss

The new Danfoss office right on Kultorvet in Copenhagen is tailored to the hybrid way of working in a large international company: A digital work life with in-person knowledge sharing and socialization.

With supporting features such as meeting rooms with full digital conference setups; solo boxes with high resolution webcams for online calls; an active break room featuring a foosball table, video games, and board games; and a Solitary Space for meditation, nursing, etc., the interior design caters to a wide variety of work styles and personalities.

Flexible seating, made possible by custom-made lockers with a clamp at the front for individual personalization, enables people to choose either a more quiet or a more lively work area, depending on both their work style, their mood for the day, and their general personality.

The furniture is a combination of reuse and upcycling from Danfoss’ previous Copenhagen locations and new furniture pieces, resulting in a contemporary, but still familiar atmosphere, with a “Danfoss red” thread throughout the office. To ensure both social and environmental sustainability, the existing furniture not planned for use in the new location was donated through Holmris B8’s donation network.
