Moving day for traditions and work habits
When the Danish bank Andelskassen had to move from Hammershøj to their new facilities in Skejby, it was not only a major task in terms of the amount of furniture and equipment. It was also traditions and work habits that had to find their place in the new surroundings.
With that in mind, it was important for Andelskassen to bring elements from their previous headquarters, such as art and existing furniture, into the new building. The result is an interior where the combination of familiar elements and new, modern solutions has created attractive and dynamic surroundings that honor the bank’s history and support employees’ sense of belonging.
Focus on upcycling and minimal waste
CF Møller served as the architect and was responsible for the calming color palette in shades of blue, green, and beige, combined with warm wood finishes that visually connect the building across floors and functions. Several design classics from the former office in Hammershøj have been given new life – including the many Nanna Ditzel chairs, which have been repainted to match the interior color scheme, while much of the furniture has been cleaned and reused to complement the contemporary design.
The remaining furniture from Hammershøj was donated to local organizations and a private school, as well as distributed to the bank’s other branches. This approach ensured the project was completed with a focus on reuse and minimizing resource waste.

Room for calm and community
As a new element, Andelskassen has incorporated several of Holmris B8’s Neighborhood meeting pods, providing everyday flexibility with opportunities for concentration, phone calls, informal conversations, and short meetings. This contributes to a lively building with room for both calm and community.
“Together with Holmris B8, we have considered many different solutions in relation to meeting rooms, workstations, and facilities where people can meet across the building, immerse themselves, or gather informally in various breakouts. It has created a building where you truly feel at home,” says Mia Winkler Møller, HR Manager, Andelskassen.

Holmris B8 was involved in many aspects of the project – from moving, cleaning, and upcycling existing furniture to delivering new and custom-made furnishings. In addition, comes advice on interior design and work environment, installation of art, as well as the establishment of plants and a corresponding service agreement.
Large project with a short deadline
Large-scale projects like this one can sometimes present challenges, and that was also the case for this extensive project with its tight deadline. The delivery of ten conference tables was delayed, but a swift solution was found to ensure everything was ready as planned. At the same time, the installation phase required close collaboration between the landlord’s project management team, Andelskassen, and Holmris B8 – a partnership that successfully ensured the handover took place on schedule.
The project in Skejby is a good example of how the new and the existing can be united in modern, functional surroundings where history is preserved and both employees and traditions thrive.
